Reviews
not sure why the rating is so low atm I am leaving this review... been here so many times people are always very nice and accommodating. Delicious affordable food and generous portions.
Haven't eaten when I went to do my safety inspection which is right next to this restaurant so, I decided to give them a try. The receptionist was raving about this place and said their Carne Asada is good. Well, I must admit their meat were flavorful. Just the right portion. Their prices are also not bad; it's like the same before inflation. However, I was not a fan of the tortillas. I can tell they're freshly made but oh boy, they're almost the same size as pupusas! Also tasted dough-y. I have not had any problems with the waitresses. The place is also clean.
The carne asada is amazing. Crunchy around the edges but tender, perfectly seasoned. (You can buy it at the meat counter too, along with homemade cheese and chorizo). Rice and beans and a generous salad come with it. My friend ordered a fried whole fish. She said it was as delicious as what she gets in Japan. The carnitas and pupusas were a hit too. Oh, and get the flan. It's incredibly creamy and wonderful.
This place is so much better, now that they have new management. They always have such good food. I usually only get pupusas, shrimp cocktail or menudo when I stop by. Oh, and their horchata is amazing! Try it!!!! Hands down the best menudo in RVA. CHECK THEM OUT!!
If you enjoy delicious South American cuisines then this is a must stop for you. I went here for lunch and order 2 asada tacos. The tacos were overflowing with chunks of beef and it comes with slices of lime and radish. The tacos are bigger than I expected and was so filling after eating only 2. I was so excited to eat that I forgot to take a picture. The tortilla were moist and the carne asada was seasoned well and was perfect with the hot sauce, Also, ordered Papusa that was made to order and comes with salsa and pickled cabbage. So so yummy!!! The chicken tamales wrapped in banana leaf is unique and has a rich chicken potatoes and spices. The tacos were so good, I came back the after work and ordered 2 more for dinner!!! That's how good they were! The lady working the register was very kind and helpful as she took the time to explain different options to choose from and made recommendations according to what you like. There are plenty of tables and seating, it's clean, safe and inviting. This is now my go to spot for tacos, Papusa and El Salvadorian chicken tamales. Tuesday is $1.25 for asada tacos!!!! I will take pictures next time I go back!!!
